TOPEKA, KS – 2 Ropes. 2 Candidates. “Have you had enough…?”
Frankly, we have. Campaigning on the issues, truthfully pointing out voting records, hard-hitting pieces that catch your attention, all are fair game in politics. Apparently that’s not enough to help their candidates win, so a group calling itself the Kansas Traditional Republican Majority (KTRM) tries to “tie” two candidates together with rope in their latest mailing. Claims that candidates want you in jail or dead for seeking cures for cancer apparently weren’t scary enough.
Lynching candidates you don’t like isn’t traditional, isn’t Republican and certainly isn’t what the majority of Kansans do when they don’t like someone.
KTRM received $45,000 just a few weeks ago from Senate Republican leaders via a Leadership PAC chaired by Senate President Steve Morris. Does this mean he agrees with these types of political games?
KRA calls on Senate President Steve Morris to ask for his contribution to be returned and to condemn the actions of KTRM. State Republican Party Chairman Kris Kobach should do likewise. To do anything less is to approve KTRM’s implication that it’s time to lynch candidates you oppose.
